K.C. McDermott is the Sports Romance pen name for Karen C.P. McDermott. 

K.C. grew up in a family of trash talkers and later studied this phenomenon as part of her doctoral work at the University of Connecticut. She’s been cited as an expert on this topic by ESPN and the BBC, among others (see her Academic Work).

K.C. played competitive volleyball in tournaments and leagues until her knees decided that this was no longer a viable activity.  In her 'spare time,' K.C. now makes wine, gardens, does pottery, and travels.

Hockey was never at the top of K.C.'s list of favorite sports until she read Pucking Around by Emily Rath, and now she thinks it's the second best sport in the world after volleyball. Pucking Mad About You is her debut hockey novel.
